Virtual Aging In Place Consultation
We’re Getting Older, and Homes Aren’t Ready for It.
In the U.S., 10,000 people turn 65 every single day.
By 2034, for the first time in history, older adults will outnumber children. Yet nearly 9 in 10 homes in America are notaging-ready.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau and AARP:
-
Only 1% of homes have the key features needed to support aging safely
-
Over 3 million seniors go to the ER every year due to falls, mostly in their own homes
-
90% of older adults say they want to “age in place”—but most don’t start planning until it’s too late
Let’s change that. Let’s plan ahead—before a fall, a surgery, or a sudden life shift forces your hand.

Waiting is the Most Expensive Risk You’ll Ever Take.
Here’s what usually happens when people wait:
-
A loved one falls in the bathroom or on the stairs
-
They end up in the ER, then rehab, then… maybe a care facility
-
Family scrambles to make decisions under pressure
-
Costs skyrocket. Emotions run high. Dignity suffers.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Planning ahead is the single best way to:
-
Avoid injury
-
Save thousands in long-term care costs
-
Protect independence and confidence
-
Reduce stress for you and your family
-
Let’s have that conversation now—so you don’t regret waiting later.

Expertise + Experience + Empathy
You’re not getting a generic checklist or AI-powered template. You’re getting me—Maria.
A Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist. A licensed general contractor. A woman who has cared for her aging mother and helped hundreds of families just like yours.
I bring both design-and-build wisdom and a heart for caregiving.
Margaret C. (daughter)
“Maria gave us peace of mind and a clear plan we could afford. She saw things we never would have noticed. Highly recommend!”
Beverly G. (wife)
“When my husband started having mobility issues after a stroke, I was overwhelmed and scared. We didn’t want to leave the home we have lived in for 32 years, but I could not picture how we’d make it safe without giving up everything we loved. Then we found Maria and her team. She didn’t just remodel our bathroom –she restored our dignity and peace of mind. Now my husband can shower safely, and I sleep better at night knowing our home is working with us – not against us.”
Linda J (wife, mom, and grandma)
“After turning 70, I knew it was time to prepare our home for the years ahead – but I refused to make it look like a care facility. Maria understood that instantly. She and her team transformed our kitchen, bathrooms, and flooring to not just be functional and safe, but beautiful. My kids were so relieved knowing we are safer. We felt seen – this was more than construction – it was personalized care in every corner.”
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What exactly is a virtual aging-in-place consultation?
A virtual consultation is a one-on-one video session where we evaluate your home—or your loved one’s—through your smartphone or tablet camera. As a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, I’ll walk you through a safety and design review, offer personalized recommendations, and provide a simple, actionable plan tailored to your goals.
Q2: What do I need for the consultation?
Just a reliable internet connection, a smartphone or tablet, and the willingness to walk around your home. I’ll guide you every step of the way. We can use Zoom, FaceTime, or WhatsApp—whatever is most comfortable for you.
Q3: I’m not very tech-savvy. Can I still do this?
Absolutely. Many of my clients are in their 60s, 70s, or older. I make it easy. If needed, we’ll schedule a 5-minute test run before your appointment just to make sure you're comfortable.
Q4: How is this different from hiring a contractor or home inspector?
Most contractors look at code compliance and construction. I look at you. Your mobility, lifestyle, health concerns, and goals for staying in your home safely. It’s a different lens—rooted in aging-in-place principles, medical awareness, and empathetic design. I bring decades of remodeling experience and specialized CAPS certification to your unique situation.
Q5: Is this just for seniors?
Not at all. Many of my clients are adult children, caregivers, or people planning 5–10 years ahead. If you or someone you love is over 50, facing a health challenge, or just wants to feel safer at home—this service is for you.
Q6: We’re not ready to remodel yet. Is this still helpful?
Absolutely. In fact, now is the best time—before a crisis forces quick decisions. This consultation helps you understand your options, budget realistically, and make smart choices over time. It’s about peace of mind and preparation, not pressure.
Q7: Will you try to sell me products or push services?
No. While I may suggest helpful tools, layouts, or resources from Sageful Finds or my own experience, you’re never obligated to buy anything. My goal is to educate and empower, not to upsell.
Q8: Can you recommend local contractors in my area?
While I don’t manage out-of-state remodels, I can help you learn how to vet a local contractor properly. I’ll give you a bonus “Vet-Your-Contractor” checklist and teach you what to look for—and what red flags to avoid—when hiring for accessibility work.
Q9: Can other family members join the call?
Yes! You’re welcome to invite your spouse, adult children, siblings, or caregivers. This is often a family conversation, and I’m happy to guide everyone through it with clarity and care.
Q10: Will I get anything in writing?
Yes, depending on the service tier you choose. My Standard and Full consultations include emailed checklists, priority action plans, and helpful resource links so you can confidently move forward after our session.
Q11: Can I gift this consultation to someone else?
What a thoughtful idea—yes! Many adult children book this service as a gift for their aging parents. I’ll work with both of you to ensure the session is helpful, respectful, and empowering.
Q12: What’s your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Life happens! You may reschedule up to 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment are non-refundable, but I’ll gladly help you rebook within the next 14 days.
